Overview
PADI scuba diving in the Andamans, particularly the Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) program, offers a fantastic opportunity for beginners to experience the underwater world through a guided scuba diving session. PADI DSD in the Andamans is an introductory scuba diving experience designed for individuals with little to no prior diving experience. It allows participants to explore the stunning underwater landscapes of the Andaman Sea under the guidance of a certified PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) instructor. This is a more enhanced version of the shore dive that includes the provision of a PADI scuba diving Certificate. It offers you the opportunity to pursue further courses if desired. The briefing and dive experience are more comprehensive.

- Training: 25 to 35 minutes
- Underwater exploration: 40 minutes
- Miscellaneous: 60 to 80 minutes

- Heart or blood pressure issues are not permitted.
- Travelers with sinus problems are not allowed.

PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) scuba diving is a globally recognized certification program that teaches individuals how to safely explore the underwater world using scuba diving equipment
Many dive centers in Andaman offer PADI certification courses, including Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, and specialty courses such as underwater photography or wreck diving.
The minimum age requirement for the PADI Open Water Diver course is 10 years old. However, there are junior versions of the certification available for younger participants.
While basic swimming skills are recommended for scuba diving, many dive sites in Andaman have calm, shallow waters suitable for beginners and non-swimmers.
